Tutor Description

Hi, my name is Michael D. Davis---a common name; an uncommonly good tutor!

After 25 years as a classroom teacher, I have decided to take a new direction. I decided to become a private tutor at the end of the 2007-08 school year. I loved teaching in the classroom, but I've discovered that I love working with students on an individual basis even more!

I have a Bachelor's degree from Loyola University in New Orleans (so I can say that I'm a proud product of a Jesuit education!)

I have a Master's degree from Emory University in Atlanta, one of the most respected universities in the U.S.

In my free time I love to paint and draw, play guitar, listen to my fully loaded IPOD, watch movies (I especially love Russian, Polish, and Japanese films!!). I'm also a trivia buff!

I am able to tutor a wide array of topics, including, but not limited to:

Grade School Mathematics, Middle School Mathematics,

High School Mathematics (Algebra I & II), 1st & 2nd Year Spanish, Language Arts,

English, Literature, Grammar

SSAT Test Prep

PSAT Test Prep

SAT Test Prep

ACT Test Prep

If you don't see what you're looking for, just ask me. I can probably help you.

My specialty is SAT test preparation. If you'd like to see what I have to offer in that area, please visit my website at cafe2400.org.

I can provide you with numerous references from satisfied customers. I'm proud to say that almost all of the students with whom I'm currently working are the result of recommendations given by previous students and parents.

I am deeply dedicated to helping your son or daughter achieve. I love being able to help children and young adults improve, succeed, and recognize their true abilities. I love to see the confidence that emerges in them when they start "getting it" after having been confused, frustrated, and on the brink of giving up!

Give me the opportunity to work with your child. You'll be very glad you did!
